Improve website's SEO #3240

I think we should make an effort and improve the SEO of our website. #3238 has been a first step, but now I'm opening this issue to keep track of the changes we would like to make in order to improve the website in this sense.

@AlbertoPdRF, could you elaborate on these bullet points? Does "keywords" refer to the keywords meta tag? If so, my understanding is that search engines don't look at this tag anymore. https://www.wordstream.com/meta-tags says "These days Google doesn’t use meta keywords in its ranking algorithm at all, because they're too easy to abuse."

I'm also unsure what "personalized images" and "descriptions for every page" means.

Expanding a bit on every point:

  • [ ] Personalized images -- perhaps the title superimposed to our logo.

In #3238 I added the og-wca_logo.png image that gets displayed on social media when sharing any link to our website. What I meant with that point is to personalize a bit which image gets displayed depending on which link is shared, perhaps by superimposing the title of the page over the image.

  • [ ] Keywords

I did a bit of research on this back in August but I don't remember much anymore. I don't mean to add meta tags, but if I remember correctly using keywords on the texts of our website would help improve the website's SEO.

  • [ ] Descriptions for every page.

Just as with personalized images, add personalized descriptions to pages so when pasting specific links on social media,a specific description of the shared page appears.
