Is it possible that version 1.0 is faster than the latest versions? #140

What happened?

I have an Intel I5 8th generation processor, and it seems that in version 1.0 the transcription runs faster. Am I right? Can you check it?

First of all, thanks for reporting :)

Version 1 uses older whisper.cpp so there was a lot of changes since then. Can you try the section Vibe use only CPU in INSTALL.md? Let me know if it helps

לא הבנתי. בגרסה 1 זה אחרי שעדכנת את התוכנה עם GPU! למה להשתמש רק עם CPU?

הכותרת קצת מבלבלת המדריך שם מסביר איך לסדר את הבעיה שלפעמים התוכנה לא משתמשת בgpu

התוכנה משתמשת בGPU בשתי הגרסאות. למעשה בגרסאות המתקדמות יותר היא יותר איטית. אולי בגלל שהמעבד ישן יחסית? או שבגלל שהמעבד שלך חדש אתה לא שם לב להבדל [מרוב מהירות...] בגלל זה פרסמתי את הפנייה באנגלית, כדי שהקהילה תבדוק זאת, אך לא נראה שמישהו בדק... אנסה לפרסם באופן אחר בלנ"ד].

התוכנה משתמשת בGPU בשתי הגרסאות.

ניסית את הפתרון שכתבתי?

אולי בגלל שהמעבד ישן יחסית? או שבגלל שהמעבד שלך חדש אתה לא שם לב להבדל [מרוב מהירות...]

כן המעבד שלי חדש יחסית בmac או בווינדוס אז קשה להבחין בלי בדיקה מעמיקה

ניסית את הפתרון שכתבתי?

מנסה כעת. מציע לערוך במדריך, ולכתוב את הכתובת המלאה של VIBE במחשב [כי זה לא נמצא במקום הרגיל, כלומר Program Files].

Speedup GPU in Windows 🚀

Sometimes Windows doesn't use the GPU although nvidia / opencl is supported. There's a potential fix in windows settings.

  1. Hit Win + R
  2. Type ms-settings:display-advancedgraphics and press Enter
  3. Select Browse
  4. Navigate to vibe.exe by pasting %localappdata%\vibe in the path address bar and press Enter
  5. Select vibe.exe
  6. Vibe added to the list. select Options
  7. Select the best GPU option - high Performance
  8. Save it
  9. Restart Vibe

שים לב שכתבתי להכנס לנתיב %localappdata%\vibe - התוכנה צריכה להיות שם, היא לא קיימת בנתיב הזה אצלך?

העלתי מחדש את הקבצים של הגרסה האחרונה 2.0.5 ככה שהם מגדירים בצורה אוטומטית את התוכנה ל"ביצועים גבוהים" מבחינת GPU אמור לפתור מקרים דומים לזה אז אפשר פשוט להתקין אותה ולנסות לראות אם זה עובד מהר
