that's what aacplus is for ;)
Seriously though - is mp3_pro available as a winamp plugin? I can add support
if so

I tried aacplus and liked it but many people told me my stream no longer
played in Windows Media Player, maybe I just did not know how to configure
it, if you do know a trick for that let me know.... also I used mp3pro
before in my DRS2000 encoder from SAM and liked it.
Above is the link for the winamp plugin, If you add support for that, will
it work also in the standalone version?

For windows media player, use
DNAS v1
mms://ip-address:port/
DNAS v2
mms://ip-address:port/?sid=#
above is untested, but apparently works
if I add mp3pro winamp plugin support, then yes, unofficially, it will work
with standalone (much like enc_aacplus.dll does now)
however, it may not be a simple case of just copying the one dll file - eg,
the new fraunhofer aac+ encoder, enc_fhgaac.dll needs another two "support"
dll's to be copied, and also needs the VC2008 redistributable installed ...
even then, it is hit and miss (works for me, works for some, but not all
people) - which is why there is no (official or unofficial) support for
Fraunhofer aac in standalone, in fact, there's a separate dsp for that too
I will add support for mp3pro to the dsp_edcasp version, this means the
code will be there for the standalone - if it works, good, if it does not
work, I will try my best to understand what needs to be copied to make it
work

Sorry, that link you gave me is for the winamp DECODER. I don't think an
encoder exists for winamp

Mp3PRO is outdated. The official mp3prozone.com site isn't updated for years
-since 2005- and this format should be concerned deprecated. Windows Media
Player can't play it, iTunes can't play it.
Please don't spend time on support for old/deprecated formats in newer releases
of Edcast/Riocast.

Thank you for the information - it was always going to be a low priority
enhancement anyway
