+1 Add Wayland support please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

+1 apparently you need to use the wayland portal service to get access to a pixel at a given location. GNOME has a library that makes this easy: libportal

here is the API that is needed: https://flatpak.github.io/libportal/method.Portal.pick_color.html

(despite "flatpak" in the name there this is not a library for just flatpak)

Gpick color picker doesn't work on Wayland, just the palette creation tools. As Ubuntu now ships with Wayland by default and is the most popular distro, I guess the priority of this enhancement/fix should be pretty high.
