I remember discovering that the door to the Ghost Lord is also impassable during escape, but that's right on the vanilla escape route so it actually makes sense (and there are no NPCs in there so it doesn't matter). I guess this might be true of a couple other doors that lead to dead ends, it might be worth checking (although I don't remember having an issue when Mulbruk was in Serdab of Power so who knows).
It seems that during the escape sequence the weight activated door that blocks access to Serdab of Treasure (Scripture location) doesn't open like all the others. However the door doesn't have the pedestal either, so the door cannot be activated either, rendering Serdab of Treasure inaccessible.
Had a run last night that was unwinnable because Mulbruk was located in Serdab of treasure.
