RDP'ing to Scale Set Cloud Management Gateways | Z-Nerd

Honestly, there should be no sane reason for you to do this. I'm also not a sane person and needed (wanted) to look at IIS logs.

Hi - just tried to add the access policy to get the username/pass but the moment after I click save the policy is instantly deleted.. Any thoughts what could be doing this?

theznerd commented 2 years ago

Hey @ethanchal - I'm not sure. I just double checked mine to make sure they didn't change anything. I can still add new users to the policy as well. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head at the moment is some funky browser extension futzing with the requests (ad blockers seem to have strange effects on some sites... never really had a problem with Azure though)

Assuming you've tried private mode, another browser, or another computer - it might be worth popping open your dev console (F12) in your browser and try submitting the request and see if anything of interest shows up.

So, for all you rebels out there that decide to try this, note that some CMG's may report that the Administrator username is CMGAdmin; however, in reality it is VMSSAdmin as Nathan documented.

Also, the screen shots and button/link names have changed a bit thanks to Azure's continuous improvement cheese moving processes.

Thanks, @theznerd for the write up!
