Can't use custom font with pointed Hebrew Bibles

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install a pointed Hebrew module such as WLC or OSMHB.
2. copy SBL_Hbrw.ttf to /sdcard/jsword/fonts/
2. Set custom font in /sdcard/jsword/fonts/fonts.properties
      OSMHB=SBL_Hbrw.ttf
      WLC=SBL_Hbrw.ttf
      SBL_Hbrw.ttf.fontSizeAdjustment=4

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: Hebrew Bible is displayed using SBL Hebrew
Actual: Only verse numbers are displayed using SBL Hebrew. The text is 
displayed using the default sans serif font.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 1.8.0 under Cyanogenmod 10.1-20130304 on Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000, 
Android 4.2.2.

Please provide any additional information below.

It looks like it specifically affects Bibles with pointing. The Aleppo codex 
which is not pointed can be made to display using SBL Hebrew without difficulty.

This is still an issue on Android 4.2.2. Flashcard deluxe app lets you point to 
custom font ttf files. For un-pointed Hebrew, the font shows up as the custom 
font. For pointed Hebrew, defaults to the sans serif font. Attached are screen 
shots of both. I contacted the app developer, and he said he displays the 
unicode characters using a webpage, and not a label.

Looks like this is fixed in Android 4.4! I'm now running CM11 which is based on 
4.4.2 (Kit-Kat) and pointed Hebrew looks beautiful!

Great news. My phone should be getting KitKat in the next few weeks. Hope  
it's not a CM11 specific modification.

At first I thought the problem was still there. However I have discovered that 
setting a custom font in the fonts.properties file now works. It looks really 
good. :-)

What about a solution for those stuck with older Android versions? I'm on 4.1.2 
and I cannot change fonts. Hebrew is barely readable for me.
