Hi, I am glad you are taking an interest in the code in svn but the grid code
you see is just an experimental version which I have dropped but the main issue
is that there are no short names in the Czech language. This is an issue we
have for a lot of languages and I have raised it in the JSword and Sword
mailing lists.
Would you be able to supply short names in Czech. If so could you translate
this file
(http://www.crosswire.org/svn/jsword/trunk/jsword/src/main/resources/org/crosswi
re/jsword/versification/BibleNames_cs.properties) and post it to the jsword
mailing list or drop it here and I will post it for you.
Many thanks
Martin

Just to clarify wrt dropping the grid code. I have not dropped the grid idea,
merely the code and I have started new grid code which should work in a similar
manner to that which you have seen. You can see the new grid prototype in
tests/TableKeyboard but I will move it into And Bible soon.
The problem with the old code was that it was based on Android Keyboard code
and so where I saw errors I could not fix them. One issue was that it did not
fill large screens neatly so I switched to a TableLayout and copied a lot of
ideas from Android Keyboard.
When I first implemented the current list based nav method I had some negative
feedback in mobile-devel and a lot of requests for grid nav.

Grid navigation now looks much better with short names. Attached is the file
with translation.
Note: Maybe it could be better to show the fullname, when the user touches the
button with the short name.

Thanks very much for the file and I sort of agree with you regarding the full
book name but am concerned that in some languages book names get very long so
for the first release I think I will leave it as it is but thanks for you input.
It would be great if you check the Czech user interface in the recent build I
uploaded yesterday to this site.
