I've got some internal machines that do not use DNS for email so this is to allow host file look ups to run without referring to DNS (for A and MX record checking).

Hi! I think that it's time to realize that this incremental approach to the main.cf template just isn't scalable enough. Could you confirm if the change from 9a3b80236b0191da6db47da9bca9a959d6ee0115 suits your needs? I should allow you to add the parameters you wanted, and others in the future without requiring further changes to the module.
