1 year ago As you already noticed, there is not much development going on and honestly, I don't think I will put in much time into this project anytime soon. That said, the project is open source and open to contributions :)
Anyway, I don't know of a better open source google photos alternative and the features you described are probably possible without this app: https://docs.photoprism.app/user-guide/sync/mobile-devices/

We really appreciate the work on the community app ❤️. The PR still needs some work from the PhotoPrism core team. It is already on our roadmap and will be worked on as soon as we get to it. Be aware that we have a zero-bug policy and do our best to help users when they need support or have other questions. However, this comes at a price, as we can't give exact release dates for new features.

@thielepaul would you consider being able to put time into this project again if there was a viable fork that implemented and maintained the needed changes? I'd be willing to consider maintaining a fork of PhotoPrism but I wouldn't have time to also maintain this project.

1 year ago Rebasing the api changes on photoprism has been quite easy so far, so this is not what kept me from working on this. While I have not forgotten about this project, I do not know when I will put time into it again, sorry. I am always happy to accept PRs, if someone wants to contribute!
I am looking for a online gallery app for non technical users. The requirements would basically be a gallery view with albums or categories and an auto uploading feature as they wouldn't be able to manually manage uploading and syncing the photos. Basically an open source Google photos replacement.
I noticed that this photoprism mobile version isn't compatible with the photoprism backend and also that the latest version of the app was released over 1 year ago.
Before I invest many hours installing and testing I am wondering has development been blocked or stalled? Are there current plans to merge the changes needed to make this app work and do the developers plan to actively support this app going forward?
