Right Click Menu in Browser #170

Converted from SourceForge issue 2961044, submitted by SourceForge user drknoxy on 2010-03-01 08:34:39 UTC.

I suggest that we implement more options in the right click menu.

Currently it reads: Open Recipe Add to shopping cart Delete Recipe Batch Edit.

I suggest it reads:

I think this would be really helpful and easy to implement

drknoxy - right -- this kind of nested menu in a popup is not something I like to implement.

It might be nice to add to the file->print menu, I suppose, but I'm not sure about the use case. I know that for me, I tend to print the same kind of format all the time, so once I've set up my print settings, usually printing just works.

For a menu like yours to be worth it, I'd need to be convinced that there's a good number of users who regularly toggle between printing e.g. 4x6 index cards and full pages. Furthermore, the clarity of the printing settings screen (with the preview icon that shows what your settings will do) will be entirely lost in a popup menu.

I attached a file to more explicitly describe what I meant. It would say "print" instead of "mozilla firefox" and then the menu to the right would have 3 common options and then custom or other.

Agreed on the edit button, which is straightforward. I've added this to git head already -- not sure why I never thought of this.

My feeling is that the other items will quickly overwhelm the menu. I especially don't like the idea of a submenu within a dropdown (I know these show up elsewhere, such as in the shopping list interface, but generally I find submenus hard to use and even moreso within popups).

I concur, edit (at least) should be added.
