Gourmet doesn't work on Windows 10 #810

Well, not a surprise. Windows 10 sucks so much that nothing works on it, so Gourmet in particular too.

More concretely: Gourmet installs fine. Then the user is trying to add a new recipe, its ingredients. The amount of any ingredient can't be added. Even if one writes a number and it's shown in the table cell, after saving nothing is shown in the recipe card, as though the input was incorrect. Any compatibility settings don't fix anything.

I gave up on Gourmet when I had the same issues and others on Windows 8.1.

My advice, .. move on. :-(

The user who experienced this would have moved on to Linux a long time ago if not the driver support. I reported 3 bugs against the kernel, hopefully they will be fixed soon.

I'm on WIndows 10 and can report that I can append new recipes with ingredients but there is an issue when you use special chars like ã, í, ç, ó, ú and so on. I can insert it with Copy & Paste but can't edit directly, it doesn't save. Maybe some issue with unicode? By the way I can't append images with this char on file's name. I will open new issues. EDIT: There is on issue #793

Same problem here on Windows 7. It seems to be just an encoding problem, and 100% reproducible. Any plan to solve it soon ?

Works on Windows 10 for me using version 0.17.4. Already having a lot of minor issues with the interface but it does work and I'm able to add recipes, paste in a list of ingredients, etc.

I tried on three machines, both workin ong windows 7 and windows 10: it is impossible to set the quantity field of ingredients when the database contains special characters (such as "é") somewhere.

This used to work normally, so I suspect this is related in some way to a Windows update that happened this summer.
