Odd startup behavior #7

Quite often, it'll take a couple of disconnects and reconnects for the keyboard to register and start registering keypresses. It seems like this issue was also noted in issue 3.

I'm on windows 10, if that matters.

I was wondering if this pcb had ESD protection? And maybe the lack of it is the cause of this issue?

Is your keyboard connected to a dock or directly to your computer. I'm curious since mine is connected to a thunderbolt dock. I also have a quick connect cable. I started plugging/unplugging the board from there so I don't prematurely wear out the USB port. I am unsure whether or not ESD protection comes into play when leaving the USB C plug in the board and connecting/disconnecting from the computer side.

I have mine connected directly to the mobo port. From what little I could find about similar issues, I remember that some of the other massdrop keyboards had a similar issue (it's mentioned in one of the other issues how this keyboard's mcu is based on the same ones that drop uses). Something about updated binaries?

I'm facing this same issue, the board will intermittently stop working and require unplugging/plugging a few times before it registers inputs again.
