GPS shows location in multiwii and megapirate but aircraft wont function.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.get the code and configure it
2.upload to board
3.connect to megapirate or multiwii to confirm gps is working

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect that when i switch to loiter the copter should loiter or for multiwii 
the plane should circle

However they remain in the mode they were before entering loiter.
I checked the gps and they have at least 6 satts

What version of the MegaPirateNG are you using?
2.8

Is this the problem, the gps it working on NMEA
