Hello, chrome does not have a full page reader mode, and I avoid using extensions just to activate the reader mode once or twice a day especially since my old eee pc is not very powerful and I already have 2 extensions installed: ublock origin with hundreds of thousands of filters and cat-catch downloader.....and so I prefer to keep my eep pc which is very hot as light as possible
I found an open-source extension that allows to bring "reader-view" Firefox's built in reader for chrome .....
we hope please this extension can be converted into a bookmarklet to avoid installing the extension:
Open in Reader View
Easily access the reader-view from the right click context menu
The "Open in Reader View" extension adds a new context menu item to the page and link context menu to let you open webpages and urls directly in the reader view mode to strip away all of the clutter. In the reader view there is a context menu item to switch back to the default mode. This extension can be used for easier access to the reader view mode or for pages that the reader view mode is not offered by Firefox.

The "Reader View" extension is designed to enhance readability by stripping away clutter like buttons, ads, and background images, and by adjusting the text size, contrast, and layout. It uses Mozilla's Readability library to provide a powerful readability experience similar to the Firefox built-in reader view, and it has a user interface that is very similar to the Firefox version. This extension offers a toolbar with many useful tools for reading, including a text highlighter, a note-taking widget, and the ability to edit the content on the fly and save it in HTML, Markdown, or screenshot format. You can even print the modified version or send it by email.
