Possibility to use a new icon from "custom_icons" w/o rebooting HA #75

My usual steps are:

  1. Place a new icon into custom_icons.
  2. Reboot HA.
  3. Use the icon in HA (in cards like Entities card, for instance).

Tried to skip rebooting HA by clearing a browser's cache (Chrome + Win10), failed. Is it mandatory to reboot HA?

See this is still open. I just need to reload the config (settings > system > power button right on the top > Quick reload. Maybe this helps.

Quick reload.

  1. Reloading a whole yaml config (& halting all running automations) just to reload one icon - not the best way...
  2. Anyway, reloading YAML does not cause reloading custom icons. And seems that it is not supposed to reload icons since Fontawesome integration is not setup in yaml.
