It would be nice if clicking a meter, or meter icon will show the status that sensor #2

The default plant status card show the sensor chart when clicking on the sensor icons. This is useful - e.g. to check light level over the previous 24hrs.

I too would appreciate this, especially since the popup shows when the plant was first detected (HA restart), and it's difficult to determine if the sensor has recently been detected, or if it's unreachable and has stored the last known value.
