Samba Backup crashes HA system #140

Seems to be an intermittent issue. Most times the backup system works fine (love it and it has saved my bacon a few times) But now and then the back up system will completely crash HA and take the system down, requiring a cold boot to restart (and HA is fine again)

Samba Backup 5.2.0 HA 2023.2.5 running on a Pi4 with a Samsung 1T SSD over usb3 as the boot device Backing up to a Synology file share Backup is 3815 MB in size.

Log: Add-on version: 5.2.0 You are running the latest version of this add-on. System: Home Assistant OS 9.5 (aarch64 / raspberrypi4-64) Home Assistant Core: 2023.2.5 Home Assistant Supervisor: 2023.03.3

I used to run it at 4:00AM but I would wake to a dead house from time to time... Now I run it at 4:00PM so I can reboot it later in the day if I see that the "dusk" routines fail. (failed again last night)

Anyone experiencing this?

Not experiencing this. But around 04:00 in the night is generally a bad time for intensive tasks as per default the recorder purge takes place here (if not disabled/set to another time).

Try to keep away from 4 to 5 in the night would be my suggestion to see if it changes anything.

Next I would exclude parts (folders, addons) step by step from the backup.

And monitor the supervisor logs closely.

Same for me.
