9 years ago I like this idea and I think it can be useful. I also think there can be a checkbox when creating the fieldtype to have it expanded or collapsed by default. The expanded/collapsed state should also persist like it does with matrix blocks and structures; this might be tricky and I'll need to see how that's handled.
It might be a week or two before I can get this added.

Great start but I'd love to see a way to make the field collapsible and set it up to open this way. I used NSM Publish Hints to write more extensive instructions about each field as a reference but having this much copy open to start is not helpful at all. Being able to collapse the field would make it accessible but hidden until needed.
