Notification sound for SMS/Messaging application not working #106

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Timeriffic
2. Receive SMS

Expected output:
While all sounds are set to "on", SMSes should trigger a notification sound, as
well as vibration.

Actual output:
SMSes trigger vibration, but no sound. All other notifications trigger sound as
expected.

Timeriffic version:
Latest from android market (v1.10.08)

Android version:
4.2.2

Device:
Samsung Galaxy S4 4G (i9505)

How do I know timeriffic is at fault?
I went through applications, uninstalling, rebooting phone, sending and SMS,
and re-installing if the issue wasn't fixed. After uninstalling timeriffic (and
rebooting) the issue was resolved.

Other testing that I did:
- Started phone in "safe" mode. Notification sound played on receiving SMS
- Checked volume settings, notification settings, etc. - no effect
- Changed "Delete old messages" settings (changed from 200 to 500 messages; no
effect. turned off deleting old messages entirely: no effect)
- Turned off timeriffic in-app - no effect.
- Uninstalled timeriffic and tested before a re-boot - no effect.

I'm guessing that it is something messing up in the boot-up sequence, as just
uninstalling the application doesn't fix the problem without a reboot.

Had the same issue. Sent an error report (User Error Report [BA87UCQT-1])

## App: Timeriffic 1.10.08
## Locale: en_US
## Log Date: 2013/10/06 21:17:34 -0300

## Issue Id: BA87UCQT - 1
## Android Device ##

Device : SCH-I545 (samsung jfltevzw)
Android: 4.2.2 (API 17)
Build : Verizon/jfltevzw/jfltevzw:4.2.2/JDQ39/I545VRUAME7:user/release-keys

I tried several different steps. The one that worked once was going to settings
-> ICS Overrides -> Separate Notif Volume. I selected that option and it worked
once. After the next modification it stopped working once again.

Not being able to hear the SMS is rather anoying in an otherwise superb app.
Regards
