We should restore support for JRuby in the future, but it is better to acknowledge that it's not currently a priority because of other issues in Appraisal, as it's not something that will be fixed soon.

This problem might be entirely moot as Travis is broken and isn't picking up new builds and it'll probably be replaced with GitHub Actions as that sucks less. Joyful.

With our current Travis configuration broken, I'm just going to close this for now. We can revisit this when we have CI working again.
