th7 - game plays at insane speed now when patched #155

Hello! I hadn't played Touhou in a few weeks. Today I updated to the new thcrap. I chose the standard english (default) option, and the game wouldn't load at all. Upon system restart, it will now load using the patch shortcut, but perfect cherry blossom runs at warp speed. When loading the unpatched game, it is normal speed. I'm using fully updated Windows 10. Any workarounds? I wouldn't have allowed it to update if i knew this would happen :(

You could try different settings in custom.exe (this app can be translated with thcrap):

Furthermore, you could try vpatch and experiment with different settings in vpatch.ini (e.g. enable or disable window mode, change "VSync" to 0 or 1, set GameFPS to 60).

Disabling vsync in the configuration tool worked, thanks! I would have thought the opposite 👍

@RottingZombie, I'm glad that disabling vsync helped :slightly_smiling_face:

@brliron, does thcrap interfere with vsync? If not, this issue probably can be closed.

I heard th07 has a really weird command line parsing. And I think something related to thcrap (maybe turning backslashes into forward slashes) triggers some switch in the game's command line parsing triggers the unlimited FPS.

I think we can keep this issue open.

I checked and th07 doesn't use the command line at all
