Broken with TB 128 again :( #934

Same problem when you update to TB 128.0 :(. W11 here. The connection to server can't be made:

"An unexpected error occurred"

brad2014 commented 2 months ago

I also cannot use in TB 128.2.1esr.

Some debugging:

Server: dovecot 2.3.16 running (dovecot-pigeonhole-2.3.16-11.el9_4.1.x86_64), starttls, sasl authentication, plain Client: Thunderbird 128.2.1esr

Expected behavior: Display modal dialog to get password for sieve://example.com:4190 and offer to remember it.

Actual behavior: No modal dialog, server disconnects

It appears that session disconnects after initiating StartTLS, receiving "OK "Begin TLS negotiation now."

@thsmi is there any way to progress this?

+1

I'd be willing to put my organisation's hand in pocket, especially if some other people were to come forward.

Is this project dead? I'm keeping a portable old Thunderbird just to use sieve. I can't even see a unofficial community build or so like the famous 0.6.1 for TB up to 115.
