'Repository Change Scanner' has encountered a problem #78

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Share a Flex Builder project
2. Work on it for a couple of days!
3. Close the project and re-open it

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

A project should open without throwing any errors, and the package
navigator should show Team/Git icons on folders and files.

Instead, after opening a project a "Problem Occurred" error is thrown with
this text:

Problem Occurred
'Repository Change Scanner' has encountered a problem.
An error occurred while scanning for changes. Scanning aborted
java.lang.NullPointerException

After that no project are scanned successfully, and Team/Git icons are not
shown on folders and files.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

0.4.0.200904170938 on Mac OS X 10.5.6

But problem has been occurring for at least the last three versions

Please provide any additional information below.

To overcome the error I have to remove the project (and files) and recreate it.

I think that perhaps Flex Builder is creating a bad/corrupted/zerobyte file
of some kind in the project, but have not been able to track it down.

This has probably nothing to do with Flex Builder... I don't know what Flex
Builder is,
and probably never used it. So I can confirm this happens on my computer also.

Although on my project the Eclipse keeps freezing now (showing "Repository
Change
Scanner: (12%)" on statusbar, I'm trying to uninstall Egit for a while.

No, indeed it doesn't. I encountered that error with php and java projects.

Could you supply a stack trace and post it with a NEW BUG at bug.eclipse.org?
You can add a link here if you want to.
