How can I convert an eml file into a PDF file so that the original name including the metadata (year, month, day, time) is adopted in the new PDF name? #548

Dear Support-Team,

how can I get the original name including its metadata when converting an email to PDF?

When I save emails from my mail client "Betterbird" as eml files on the Mac, then the names of the emails contain important metadata for me (date, time). For example: [Albert Einstein School] New user account - p396208 max.mustermann@web.de - 2020-03-05 1348-3

However, when I convert this email into a PDF, the PDF name is only the subject of the email. Is there a way to convert the eml file to PDF format while maintaining the identical name, including metadata?

Is there a setting option?

Thank you very much for your feedback.

Best regards

@Fantastic-Hub IETNG has extensive support for advanced file naming. Note this configuration is for any export format, EML, PDF, HTML etc.

The configuration is done on the Filenames tab in the IETNG options. If you look at the help with the question mark by the Use Extended Format, it will describe the tokens (metadata) you can use to construct a filename. @cleidigh
