Problem you are trying to solve

I love k-9 but it's becoming very hard to use because I can't at first sight see which emails are read and which ones are unread. The reason being because differencing visually only with bold / regular font on the title is too little difference.

Keep up the great work - I love k-9!

Suggested solution

I suggest greying out the text once read, to a dark grey that's not black. Am example would be the "nine" app, which has this style and makes it easier to read.

Found the option "change background when read" which fits my purpose perfectly. Great stuff. Would have loved to have it activated by default but I'm sure there's a reason for it being as it is. Excellent job, maintainers.

I have the same problem and your solution sounds perfect, but where did you find the option "change background when read"?
