1 year ago It has become more clear what it's doing. Just unsure how to resolve. Definitely seems like it's notifying from 3 different mail boxes.
"Inbox", "All Mail" and "Important" So I am getting triple notifications.
Is there a way for me to resolve this with a setting? Or is it a bug?It is very distracting and annoying.

1 year ago This is a bug I get with Gmail. I will edit to update if it happens with any other email providers

1 year ago Ok then yeah, it seems like it is a Gmail related issue. Because as I originally stated, I notice it only with my Gmail mailbox

1 year ago I have the same issue.
Edit: I can further confirm that disabling Unified inbox reduces the notifications to 2 instead of 3
Edit again: No, turning off the Unified inbox still gives me three notifs.

11 months ago I'm getting the same thing! I'm on stock android 14 on pixel fold and this is happening with all of my accounts, Gmail and non Gmail Currently I have Gmail, AOL, outlook, 2 business emails with custom hosted domains, and yahoo
Also attached is my notification settings from Android and from k9, all the accounts have the exact same settings
Will post this as a new issue as well

10 months ago Ok I think I might have resolved this, tell me if this fixes it for you guys. I noticed the same issue on Thunderbird on desktop too.
I took one more look in G-Mail (Web). Under settings > labels > system labels Uncheck "show in imap" for the "Important, All Mail" lines. Refresh your clients. They should disappear and hopefully you don't get duplicate notifications for those folders.
It may be worth disabling "Importance Markers" in "Inbox" settings menu on G-mail too. Personally I just use stars feature and this was an annoyance. To each their own. I also set the Spam folder to show up in imap.
It seems like I am getting double notifications for G-mail messages. For example, I get an e-mail, I see the notification but it shows it twice grouped together.
It seems like it MAY have something to do with Gmails "All inboxes" and "Inbox" because after I read the one from "Inbo" I still saw a 1 next to "All Inboxes", but I went into it and everything was read and there were no duplicates. So maybe it is sending a notification when it is put in "All Inboxes" and "Inbox"?
