Can we bring back the pronunciation of Pantheon? According to Cambridge dictionary while the UK pronunciation matches the current one ([.1pAn.0Ti.0Xn]
), the US pronunciation, which is the one we should be using, is [.1pAn.0Ti.0an]
, and possibly even [.1pAn.0Ti.2an]
? There is a very slight difference between those two, secondary stress on the final syllable, I'd probably need someone who can read IPA better to confirm whether the notation indicates that in that case. @amirsol81 Do any other dictionaries disagree which caused you to remove it?
@ultrasound1372 "Pantheon" is really interesting. Both Dictionary.com and Merriam-Webster list the removed pronunciation as their primary pronunciation, and list Eloquence's pronunciation second. Dictionary.com indicates that Eloquence ENU's pronunciation is especially British. However, having seen Windows OneCore voice's pronunciation which is like that of Eloquence, I came to the conclusion that the Eloquence pronunciation, supported by dictionaries, maybe more popular or accepted than I thought. That's why I removed it. But please free to re-add it. I also like the more popular .2an pronunciation.
@ultrasound1372 I just restored "pantheon."
