Today displays as "Thu Jan 01"

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Set widget row display type to Left date 
2. Date for today shows as "Thu Jan 01"
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output: Either the date for today or the Today string. Changing the 
setting for displaying today string or date does not change this behavior. 

Changing the Left date format to include the year will show the date as "Thu 01 
Jan 1970"

What Android OS are you using? Which version of Agenda Widget
Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean on Google Nexus S

This behavior started after upgrade to Jelly Bean (at the same time I upgraded 
to the paid version of Agenda Widget, cause might be either of the two)

What type of events are these (that show as thu jan 1?)

Good question! 
The event is a synced iCalendar appointment. (Google Calendar -> Add by URL)
When I enter an event manually in Google Calendar the date shows op as "Today" 
or the current date correctly. 

I will check if this happens on one specific synced calendar or on all of them

And I just noticed that all events from that calendar show as "Thu Jan 1", even 
future events. They do show up on the correct line chronologically. 
And they do show correctly in Google Calendar
