xdocreport not removing Paragraphs after mail merge when field value is empty or condition not match #445

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.insert fields in each line and one of the field in middle has no data value
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
the merged document has empty line for the field which do not have data. It
should remove <w:p> element holding that field after mail merge is complete.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
xdocreport 1.4

Please provide any additional information below.

I think it's very hard to manage that. I will see that when I will have time

dox4j has that option but unfortunately it doesn't handle few other stuff
cleanly such a conditional formatting.

usually in most case report template is defined and than corresponding cvs or
sql result set data are populated..not necessary that data will be there
always.. I think it would be great feature to allow removing empty paragraphs
and regions.

I agree with you, it should be cool if XDocReport provides this feature, but
today I have no time to develop that-(

I am at decision point if where I have to decide a product which does our mail
merge our existing word template around 300. I love everything about xdocreport
it very nicely designed and developed. do you think the feature I am requesting
is can be done in next month..

We do XDocReport in our spare time and today I'm very busy, and I cannot
promise you that I could do that.
