Darkrp not working

I installed darkrp on a garrysmod server i have bought on a website, i have all 
the basics done, like added sv_defaultgamemode darkrp to my configs and my 
startup line, yet the gamemode stayed on sandbox. So i asked the owners of the 
website to help and they installed the lastest files and tried everything but 
they couldn't fix it so they told me to ask the authors because it keeps 
bugging out and reverting back to sandbox, please help?
