Can we use the name of the metric, instead of its id, in the URL?

i wanted to avoid things like special characters and whitespaces and think IDs are more suitable for such api calls, but it implementation should be simple i guess.

I'd rather impose limits on the metric name (and maybe add another field to the metric for a "pretty" name), and use that in the in the api, instead of IDs, because we don't use them anywhere else. Seems more intuitive to me...
