Known issues with this PR:

Does not support Minecraft 1.19 (there are two points of injection now, system messages and player chat messages).
There may be better places to inject.
It should simply cancel adding the message in the first place instead of removing it after adding it.
It doesn't work for certain messages, and it runs twice for some reason as per the author.
This technique probably breaks the chat reporting feature lol

With the refactor upstream, it's probably better to create a new PR with the changes here instead of rebasing this one.
