Cannot join video conference or start a video call #207

Dear all, I am trying to use Pidgin 2.13.0-2.2+b1 + Sipe 1.25.0-1 to avoid to use S4B (and have a separated machine just for that...). I am on Debian bullseye/sid and I am using the default pidging + sipe packages. Unfortunately I am unable to join conferences or simply have a video call with colleagues. Chat works simply fine and joining rooms as well. Thansk

Hi,

turns out 1.25.0 SIPE release wasn't detecting media support in current libpurple correctly and thus the call features got disabled during package build.

I've cherry-picked the respective fix from upstream and created pidgin-sipe 1.25.0-2. My fellow Debian Developer shall be uploading the package to sid soon.

For the time being, you can downgrade to 1.24.0-1 as a workaround: https://snapshot.debian.org/archive/debian/20181220T210254Z/pool/main/p/pidgin-sipe/pidgin-sipe_1.24.0-1_amd64.deb

Cheers,

Jakub
