A long time ago we used to have a functionality in sipe/pidgin which seems to have disappeared and has been one of the biggest annoyances wit sipe/pidgin for me.
When I want to IM a user that is not in my contact list, I click the the "New Instant Message" function (Ctrl+M) and start typing a user address like sip:john.doe@company.com
It would be really nice if pidgin could just remember this so the next time whenever I start typing "john", it will be suggested in the dropdown list as a suggestion and all I have to do is select it. As I said I don't quite know why this disappeared but it is the only thing missing from this plugin at the moment (given the fact that screen sharing and audio are nearly here).
An even better function would be to automatically make suggestions as the user types based on the company directory but that is probably a lot more complicated
