Create Georgian equivalents for terms on the draft law page #66

Next to hearing dates we were putting short versions of committee names, like: 25/05/2012: AGRARIAN, PASS, or in case of plenary just the date and pass/fail.

  1. We need committee names, "plenary" and terms: "pass", "fail", "joint" appear in Georgian on the Georgian language version of the page. Here is the link with translations: http://goo.gl/dEmae.
  2. Eventually, boxes should probably be displaying full committee names on mouse-over, unless @ddohler, @TamaraCIPDD disagree.
  3. It is interesting to know what kind of options there are for making our work be more clicking and less typing (thus, excluding mistakes), such as selecting committees from dropdown, checking pass/fail, etc. (Probably a separate issue? Or irrelevant for now?)

As I see it, there are at least two options to make this happen (unfortunately both involve scripts; there are far too many hearings to make manual editing feasible even if we really hated our interns):

  1. Create models for committees, and then convert the relevant hearing text fields into links to these models instead. Then, we would only have to translate each committee once, and potentially data entry would be easier in the future because we would have a drop-down menu rather than a text field. We would need a script to do the data migration, or we would need to re-import.
  2. Don't create models for committees, but instead, create a script to copy from the English field into the Georgian field, passing everything through the translation table that Eka provided.

I'm pretty much okay with either one. Converting committees to models might have benefits in data entry, but it would also make it more rigid, i.e. what if a committee changed its name? We might not necessarily want laws that were considered under the old committee to appear as if they were considered by the new committee. Also, I completely agree with the second point Eka mentioned, so that desired functionality might be easier or harder to do with one of these methods. Thoughts?
