Shenmartav – 'You rule' or 'You govern'? #93

I was told that martav means 'to govern' rather than 'to rule'. You rule is more catchy than you govern, but maybe you want to give the English subtitle of the website a second thought.

We've discussed the translation pretty thoroughly; "Martav" can be translated to English in many different ways, "to rule," "to govern," "to command," "to lead," and others. We decided that although "You Rule" may not be the most exact translation in this context, it is in the ballpark and sounds catchier because there's a double meaning to "you rule" in English which mimics the many potential uses of "Martav" even though it is not a direct translation.
