[WIP] Integrate ctrl-panel with locale setting support

Description of changes

Pull in new version of ghaf-ctrl-panel Apply set-environment in ghaf-launcher to get locale settings into gui-vm applications

  • start control panel from top menu
  • navigate to settings / region & language
  • make changes to timezone and/or language and click apply
  • restart control panel, verify selections remain
  • reboot
  • start control panel again, verify settings persist
  • only chromium and trusted browser currently change language; some UI components may change places according to language in other components
  • time in bar should adjust to timezone changes with some delay

Tested this on Lenovo-X1 (nixos-rebuild switch)

• ci-test-automation passed
• Time of taskbar updates correctly according to timezone set in Control Panel
• Language switch becomes updated partially to the tools and apps (more notes on this below)
• Timezone and language settings survive reboot

Notes:

• I suppose you wanted preliminary testing because of the draft status. Otherwise go through the checklist.

• Control Panel 'Reset to defaults' button doesn't do anything

• Changing language in control panel affects language in the following apps/tools: chromium trusted-browser Outlook (only in login phase) Teams (both in login and content) Microsoft365 (both in login and content) zathura file manager xarchiver calculator

• Switching from English to Arabic (written from right to left) causes gui of the following apps/tools to be at least partly mirrored horizontally: chromium truested-browser file manager Audio Control Bluetooth Settings Control Panel Falcon AI Text Editor Sticky Notes business-vm apps xarchiver Calculator App menu

• These apps/tools are not affected by language switch (English -> Arabic): VPN Video Editor Slack Element Terminal Taskbar (US sign, date) Login screen Lock screen Network Manager
