Several colors are not applied #224

When running on a physical device many colors (mainly the primaryTextColor) is not applied to elements.

For example: IMG_2806D963089B-1

found out this issue is related to

a) we don't actually set the text colors, its just using the defaults (black, which is incorrect, should be #1C0000). b) because it's using the default, when dark mode turns on, it defaults to white.
