Experienced a minor issue of if you start as a faction character (ie; Vigilants) if another player interacts with you, it will deliver the generic talk line. Otherwise appears to work.
I would suggest perhaps to not choose 1) the shipwrecked start & 2) survival mode enabled. If you die you seem to get into a deathloop... my partner now has a black screen and cannot get up :)
If you choose "I want to escape this cell" then connect to the server, all players can collaboratively break out of the prison. Dying on the lower floors sends you back to the jail cell you spawn in, while spawning closer to the main entrance of the dungeon spawns you at its door (inside).
How do you get the mods onto together reborn? The mods are attached to the special edition but dont seem to show up on Together Reborn
Tested with 2 people - host spoke with the statue, chose a starting scenario (homeowner), and slept in a bed. Host was teleported away, client character was left in the locked cell. A skeleton appeared in the bed, and when trying to sleep, the standard "This is no time for sleep!" dialog appeared.
@HTF8 - sounds like you didn't join the party together before you did this. make sure to check the playguide about it!
This mod has a dependency on "Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch" https://github.com/tiltedphoques/Mod-Compatibility/issues/7 Which has a dependency on the Creation Club mods that are not supported by Skyrim Together. Starting Skyrim Together with the alternate start mod and it's dependency will cause a crash on startup. Disabling "Alternate Start - Live Another Life - SSE" and "Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch" allowed Skyrim Together to start.
Due the latest changes of a certain mod author and the deletion of the working version, this mod isnt compatible anymore.
The only option is to use the older version of the mod.
This mod has a dependency on "Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch" #7 Which has a dependency on the Creation Club mods that are not supported by Skyrim Together. Starting Skyrim Together with the alternate start mod and it's dependency will cause a crash on startup. Disabling "Alternate Start - Live Another Life - SSE" and "Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch" allowed Skyrim Together to start.

Even with USSEP 4.2.6a the Alternate will only work with the Nexus version, the newest version on AFK seems to CTD.
Alternate start works fine for me and my team. Just like the normal instructions, dont join the server if you haven't left the tutorial. (For alternate start would be choosing where you want to start + clicking the bed)
Of course we're also using USSEP that doesn't rely on CC content
Working beautifully with USSEP 4.2.5b following original instructions.
It worked online when we connect in the cell, party, leader chooses start, follower chooses start, leader sleeps in bed. This teleports both of us by the quest. Localhost splitscreen had some weird yet consistent issues. Same steps were followed up to follower chosing same start. Follower cant create dialogue after leader talks to the statue. Leader can sometimes sleep in bed but a few times neither could sleep in bed. The "create, choose then connect method" seems to be the most stable sequence for this setup

I could not get it AS to work with the 4.6.2alpha USSEP unless anyone has other tips.
