Web.py doesn't currently have a Python 3 release, so Python 2 was used. There is a Python 3 beta, so the chances are this will be out by the time of PyCon 2019. So we should upgrade the code.py script to use the beta release ASAP to minimise the porting effort while there isn't much to port.
The upgraded code should also tie in with the other backend stuff that fetches the schedule JSON and
