Fatal error in PHP 5.3 #3

I get exactly the same issue. I'm using version version 0.2 of the plugin. The error line is line 16 of class-debug-bar-timber.php.

Activate this plugin and it kills every page of mine that uses Timber. Deactivate it and its fine. This is happening on my wpengine account (which is PHP 5.3.2-1ubuntu 4.18 with mysql 5.5.27). Oddly this wasn't happening when I was testing locally on mamp (which is php version 5.5.3). Both are running wp 3.8.
