feature request : 4 square layout #191

I mainly use the vertical layout but it becomes quickly useless after 3 or 4 windows, it would be very practical to tile the windows in 4 squares.

Four squares might be a bit too specific, but I could see an alternative being useful - having the "number of windows in main split" automatically adjust so that it's always equal to half the number of windows (rounded down, so you'd have more in the secondary split with an odd number of windows). I'm not sure how it'd play with the existing manual controls, bit it could be a nice generic feature. You wouldn't be able to toggle it on/off easily like a layout though, I'm not sure if that's a problem?

To be honest, I haven't really thought about the implementation, and I still have no clue how you did this. I'm just throwing the idea out there. Your solution is pretty straight forward, I like it. You could as well set a maximum tiled window per half screen. When the limit is hit, start spliting the other half. You could control this with two sliders, one for each half of the screen.

This would be cool, I like the way i3 tiles windows and this would make shellshape come closer to that.
