Caprese requires Mac developer tools #2

it would be sweet to remove this dependency. One would have to just build a binary precompiled version of rb-appscript

Hi Tim,

Is it possible to uninstall the developer tools after we get caprese running? I've got a small SSD as my main drive and the only reason I have the developer tools installed is to get caprese working ;)

Thanks!

Yes I believe so. Which mac os x are you running? I've considered providing prebuilt binaries.

ar4s-eth commented 13 years ago

Hrmm, I'll try it out and let you know. I'm currently running 10.6.6. I guess the juice would need to be worth the squeeze, are there many people that have downloaded your script? It's incredibly useful, but if it wasn't for dev account I had setup a few years ago I wouldn't have even got this far.

Yeah its a great point. I think prebuilt binaries are the way to go. Shouldn't be too hard. Did u install dev tools on your macbookair?

Hi again, everything is still working the same as it was after uninstalling dev tools. I installed it on my Mac Pro, which has a SSD as it's main drive.

great to hear, thanks for testing that out! I'll get a prebuilt gem up soon
