After discovering that there exists another app called "Outrun" in the UK, the owner got in touch through Apples complaint system and we agreed on both not pursuing any further action, because it was not clear who came up with the name first and we have not heard of each others app before.
Said person decided to apply for a trademark (UK00003503108) in the UK one day later though, which he is using to enforce his allegedly exclusive name rights now.
For that reason "OutRun" will be called "Out-Run" in the UK from now on, or how the owner of the trademark put it "for now". What other actions he has planned is unknown to me, I just hope this app can continue to exist under the absolutely awesome name I came up with long before publishing the app.
