Long war Mac problem #3

So I just installed LW on my Mac. Been playing LW on a PC and only rEason why I don't play it on my Mac is its a little complicated for me to install the mod, that is, until yesterday when I found out that the xcom nexus mod had a build in script to install the LW mod on a Mac. So there I go all is well and the game runs great... Hello LW on a Mac... Then after the first mission, when I rtb on the new base (I made Asia my base for this run), I go to the barracks page to upgrade my soldiers "perk/ability". As soon as I pick a soldier perk to assign a soldier, game CTD. I tried several times to restart the game and same thing happens. So I play a couple of more missions using rookies and mission goes well again until I return to base and upgrade my soldiers. Now I have a squad of 40 rookies all waiting for me to upgrade them but I can't cause everytime I try to upgrade, I get a crash to desktop.....
