Reinstalling ut4 #19

Hi. Is it possible to reinstall ut4 if you cant get ut4uu to run?

you can reinstall ut4 at any time, i don't see why this is even a question. just put the game files where ever you wish. ut4uu is a plugin installed ontop of ut4, it is irrelevant when it comes to reinstallation of ut4.

I have been having problems installing ut4uu..in fact it wont install,and i am unable to uninstall ut4 after logging into the game launcher.I asked someone else who knows more than me the same question ,and they were not sure,so thats why I am asking here. So,I cant get ut4uu to install,and cant uninstall ut4...I have attached the error message I get from trying to run the UE4win64 shipping shortcut after attempting to fix this Capture When I couldn,t get the ut4uu method to work,I tried the ut4 stock method.After my first attempt at trying to installut4uu unsuccessfully,I was able to get to a login page,but the password or login attempts never worked,and I tried using the same password/username or email from my epic launcher,and the same password from my recently created timiimit account.I also got an auth code.The closest I have come to playing is offline,but now all I get is the error message in the attached jpg. I can no longer play offline. Here is the screenshot from what happens when I launch the plugin.

I,m sure there are probably a lot more people who cant get back on for whatever reason,and this is what Epic does...or so I have read. Thanks for responding...any help is much appreciated.

Your message is all over the place. I can tell you tried a lot of things.

Firstly, i believe that you are using an old version of UT4. There was an update in November 2021. That latest version is required in order to install UT4UU. If you have the game listed in Epic Game Store (EGS), then you should be able to reinstall without any issues. If you really do have that old version of the game, then you probably do have the game in EGS. If EGS doesn't let you uninstall for some reason, then you can just delete the game installation folder (but I don't know how EGS will handle that). If for some reason you can't get the game installed officially from EGS, then your best bet is to find game files somewhere on the internet.

The first image you sent is normal when you try to run that exe directly (use normal shortcut to the exe). To start the game, you need to provide additional arguments in the Target field in shortcut properties: UnrealTournament -epicapp=UnrealTournamentDev -epicenv=Prod -EpicPortal.

I also believe you are using a very outdated version of UT4UU since i see you run Updater.exe which is no longer part of UT4UU. You can find latest version here.

There is a community of people on our Discord Server and there others could probably give faster responses & real-time help, but it's fine if you want to keep conversation here.

Hello.I grabbed the ut4uu file via your link,and tried running it.You can see my results explained further below. Yeah your right...I,m all over the place right now because of trying different things to get it running again,and it getting worse not better..Basically stuck on those 2 error messages. I am intermediate level tech wise. My experience with ut4...Was playing since it came out...no problems at all.There used to be 2-3gb updates regularly..but they stopped after fortnite became huge.You probably already know all this. This is in response to you saying this... "Firstly, i believe that you are using an old version of UT4" My game must have been damaged b4 the epic shutdown,even though i could still play the game.

The ut4uu link you sent installed for me,but only if i unchecked all the options just before installing it,and chose a customized installation. I created another ue4shipping shortcut..after installation...same error popped up. There is one last thing i can try that may work.After the install of ut4uu v6 which you sent,there were instructions listed ,and i will follow those instructions..and maybe that will work.The last remaining issue after that would be if it let me input the credentials without me getting invalid email..username or whatever.
