[JENKINS-67717] Jenkins Dashboard -> manage jenkins -> Configure system page has some configurations missing at the end. Even the apply/save button and the jenkins version which will be present on the footer is also missing.

We were doing same changes in manage jenkins -> configure system page. While saving the configuration , it took a long time and we got a error page mentioning "oops. a problem occured while processing your request." . 

Post this error , if we refresh the configure jenkins page, we are not able to see few of the congurations which were present at the bottom of the page. Even apply/save button and the jenkins version which was present in the footer is also missing. 

 

Jenkins version : 2.263.1

 

Kindly help us resolve this issue.

This issue report is unlikely to receive any response from Jenkins maintainers.

Some of the reasons I expect it will not receive any response:

• You're running a version (2.263.1) that is no longer maintained by the Jenkins project. It has known security issues and was released long ago. We support the current LTS version and the current weekly version. Have you confirmed that the same problem is visible on the current LTS version or the current weekly version?
• You've not provided the stack trace that was written to the Jenkins log file when that failure message appeared
• You've not provided the list of installed plugins and their versions
• You've not met many of the other recommendations for Jenkins bug reports
• You've not described the steps you've taken to investigate the problem yourself

vijaysankaranr You also didn't list the version of the Fortify plugin and what configurations you were changing. You didn't mention your browser name and version. Please, also put your browser into Dev mode (usually F12 button) and check if you have any js error messages in the console. It just looks like some js failure rather than jenkins related failure.

I updated the below values.

 

 

Then tried to apply and save. I got an error page similar to the below one.

Then I refreshed the configure system page , I noticed few configurations were missing which was present earlier. Even the apply / save button and jenkins version in the footer disappeared.

 

I am using crome browser with version "Version 97.0.4692.99 (Official Build) (64-bit)"

In developer tools , I am not able to see the footer class which was present earlier. In console , I am not seeing any errors.

I tried opening the same in interent explorer. Same issue is there.

 

I have the config.xml file backup before this issue. Can it be of any help ?

That version caused a similar problem in JENKINS-66884. Try uninstalling it, and restoring after JENKINS-67590 is sorted out.

I updated the publish-over-ssh:1.20.1 plugin to version 1.24. After restarting the Jenkins , I saw the issue was still there. I checked the logs and I could see java heap memory error and space error.

So I increased the heap memory allocation and restarted the Jenkins. Then I am able to see all the configurations / apply and save button in configure system page.

 

Everything seems to be fine now in Jenkins UI. But now I am seeing some error in Jenkins logs which is related to fortify plugin.

I am worried if I change the configuration of this plugin , again will I face this issue. Kindly suggest. I am attaching the logs in next command.
