[JENKINS-14032] No jobs showing up in view after upgrade to 1.466 #2345

Closed timja closed 10 years ago

timja commented 12 years ago

Upgraded from Hudson 1.346 to Jenkins 1.466. Biggest issue is existing jobs not showing up under existing views. These jobs and views were available and worked under Hudson 1.346. Jobs are still listed in teh config.xml files under the view and are also on the hard drive in the correct location. View does not show the job.

How can I get the view to recognize the jobs in the config.xml. I even reverted back to the config.xml for hudson 1.346, still no jobs are shown. start/stop jenkins, reload configurations, etc.... still no jobs show up.

What needs to be done to get this to work. Thanks

I would love to help you with this, but I haven't seen this issue. Can you provide more data? Ideally, if you could just send me the xml snippet containing you view configurations, then I could see if there is some bug. I'm not positive it's an issue with the View Job Filters plugin. Are you using that plugin for the views that aren't showing jobs?

krcuser:

Hi,

We don't have the view job filters plugin installed, do we need this plugin installed to create views and show jobs? We have existing view with jobs listed and working fine. We had a few views that lost their jobs and the teams recreated the jobs and they seem to be working, all except one.

The one view that does not seem to be working, the team recreated all their jobs on Friday, today on Monday all the jobs are missing. I am including the xml snippoet for that listview that does not show any of the jobs. This is a big project, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Still having issue where jobs are not showing in view. When new jobs are created, they disappear from the view when jenkins is restarted for example after a plug-in is installed.

Any suggestions, ideas, solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

Still having this issues. Dev team creates jobs and if jenkins is bounced, the jobs disappear. Jobs are still in the jobs directory and are still listed in the config xml file. The jobs just do not show up in view within the jenkins console.

Any help, ideas, suggestions would be great!

thanks

Hi,

First step would be to look for startup errors in the Jenkins logs. You should be able to see this from the "All Jenkins Logs" thing immediately after startup. For details how to access the logs from the web admin interface see

https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/Logging

When you find the error a little bit of Google searching may help to identify the problem/solution but do update this report with relevant log entries/findings.

Removing view-job-filters as no one has stated that this ticket is in any way related to that plugin.

@KC
Is this still an issue?
