Jenkins core currently depends on JFreeChart 1.0.19 (released on November 5, 2016), which is out of date. At the time of this writing, the latest version of JFreeChart is 1.5.3 (released on February 21, 2021).
As described in jenkinsci/jenkins#4224, this upgrade contains incompatible API changes and needs compatibility work.
